General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi & Welcome.

Meprate (Medroxyprogesterone) is female hormone Progesterone is given to induce withdrawal bleeding since you have a missed period (amenorrhea) with a negative pregnancy test. Withdrawal bleeding usually occurs anytime from 3-7 days after the last dose of Meprate.

So in my opinion, your doctor gave you the right treatment because Meprate is safe and helpful in regulating your cycle.

Its most common side effects include nausea, bloating, breast tenderness, headache, change in vaginal discharge, mood swings, blurred vision, dizziness, drowsiness, or weight gain/loss. If any of these effects persist or worsen, consult your doctor promptly.

Hope this answers your query.
