Heart Attack Warning Signs Some heart attacks are sudden and intense — the "movie heart attack," where no one doubts what's happening. But most heart attacks start slowly, with mild pain or discomfort. Often people affected aren't sure what's wrong and wait too long before getting help. Here are signs that can mean a heart attack is happening: Chest discomfort. Most heart attacks involve discomfort in the center of the chest that lasts more than a few minutes, or that goes away and comes back. It can feel like uncomfortable pressure, squeezing, fullness or pain. Discomfort in other areas of the upper body. Symptoms can include pain or discomfort in one or both arms, the back, neck, jaw or stomach. Shortness of breath with or without chest discomfort. Other signs may include breaking out in a cold sweat, nausea or lightheadedness. As with men, women's most common heart attack symptom is chest pain or discomfort. But women are somewhat more likely than men to experience some of the other common symptoms, particularly shortness of breath, nausea/vomiting, and back or jaw pain. Learn the signs, but remember this: Even if you're not sure it's a heart attack, have it checked out (tell a doctor about your symptoms). Minutes matter! Fast action can save lives — maybe your own. Don’t wait more than five minutes to call 9-1-1." Yes, it is possible to have one in your 30's but usually a pre-existing condition exists and/or a family history of heart disease. If you are having chest pain you should make sure you do regular breast exams at home and discuss your concerns with your doctor.

What are typical heart attack symptoms? I just noticed a mild ache in my left shoulder blade, but I have been doing quite a bit of lifting and carrying the past few days, so it may be a strain. I also noticed a few hours ago a slight numbness in the skin of my arms. I m 67, in generally excellent health, fairly fit (walking, lap swimming most days half mile to a mile), but I seem to recall having heard something about these symptoms in the past. I have no chest pain, no arm pain, no shortness of breath, no sweats. Not sure what else to say.

What are the symptoms of a heart-attack. I had sudden pain in the middle of chest while sitting in the Bus. This happened about 18 hrs. before. While I changed my hands position the pain disappeared. I am hypertensive but controlled with medicines of AV-75 and Cressar-40 with the advice of a Cardiologist. Is this pain any sign of heart-attack. I am not a diabetic patient and not alcoholic. Hi my heart has beating really fast for the past three hours and now it's starting to hurt and I have had difficulty breathing. I have taken deep breaths, tried to drink some water and relax but nothing I do seems to help. For the past few weeks my heart has been doing this irregularly for a few hours where at some points it seems to stop or skip a beat. At first I assumed it was a panic attack but now I'm not so sure.

i am 28 yr old female. In the middle of the night last night I experienced a feeling like something was squeezing my heart. This morning had sharp pains on the right side of my heart. Tonight I am experiencing squeezing pains by my armpits (both sides) and its turned into burning sensation going down my right side of chest and middle of my back. I have experienced anxiety attacks before but nothing like this. I have been burping a little since the episodes started tonight. Is this indigestion, anxiety or something more serious. It seemed to come back after I had given my baby a bath and carried her around.

Hello and thank you very much for allowing me to ask a question!... Can you tell me if it is safe to combine the drugs Effexor XR 150 mgs. and Viibryd? I am quite nervous about beginning the Viibryd, because my new Dr. (yesterday was my first appt. with him) was very side-tracked and extremely rushed!! To be honest, I don t think he heard a word I said and he only spent about 2 minutes with me. I have extreme circumstantial anxiety and depression, I also experience panic attacks that come out of nowhere and a very high heart rate... May I ask your professional opinion regarding the combination of these two medications? Thank you so much, Amy Andersen I JUST WASTED 20 MINUTES OF MY TIME!!!!!!!!!!.... WHY DO YOU WAIT UNTIL SOMEONE TAKES THE TIME TO MESSAGE THE DR AND FILL OUT ALL THE NEEDED INFORMATION BEFORE YOU LET US KNOW THAT THERE IS A CHARGE!!!! THAT IS EXTREMELY UNPROFESSIONAL AND WHAT IS CONSIDERED TO BE A SCAM ... IF THERE IS A CHARGE FOR ASKING A QUESTION IT SHOULD BE THE FIRST INFORMATION TO BE POSTED!!!! BUT INSTEAD OF DOING THAT YOU WAIT UNTIL SOMEONE HAS TAKEN THE TIME TO WRITE A MESSAGE, FILL OUT INFO. ETC. BEFORE YOU SPRING THE FACT THAT YOU MUST PAY FOR THIS SERVICE!!!... AS A BUSINESS PROFESSIONAL MYSELF, I FIND THAT VERY SNEAKY AND VERY UNPROFESSIONAL! I NO LONGER CONSIDER YOU A REPUTABLE COMPANY, AND I AM HIGHLY DISAPPOINTED! REGARDS, MRS. AMY E. ANDERSEN

My heart goes really fast when I think of it going fast, like 150 to 190bpm. I was told that adrenaline and cortisol get released when you fear and the flight fight mode is being activated by the mind which in turn speeds up the heart. How come I fear my heart going fast then it does? I mean I didn t think I would have thought control over a heart. I can think or tell my heart to go 60 but it s not going to go and do what I say or think. So is this just a part of a panic attack? I have been checked out left and right including stress test(s), halter monitors, thyroid and adrenals were checked and I my doctor also checked just about every blood test available. If I am ok...then why all the fast heart beats? Thank you for your time. ~ Tommy
