What Are The Other Ways To Increase Haemoglobin Level Other Than Blood Transfusions And Iron Rich Diets?

My husband has ulcerative colitis associated with a rare syndrome that affects the platelets (they have little to no dense bodies). His hemoglobin is now at 9.2. Iron pills/shots are not good for him because of both the colitis and syndrome. So is there any other way to increase the hemoglobin other than blood transfusions and iron rich diets?

Hi, dear
I have gone through your question. I can understand your concern.
Your hemoglobin level is low. You may be suffering from iron deficiency. If you don't want blood transfusion or diet then you should take injectable iron supplements.
Consult your doctor and take treatment accordingly. You csn take iron sucrose or dextran.
Hope I have answered your question, if you have doubt then I will be happy to answer. Thanks for using health care magic. Wish you a very good health.
