I had a protected Vaginal sex with a sex worker in indonesia almost 2/5 months ago . now i'm really afraid about HIV infection . I used Condom but i fingered her Vagin at least for 5 Min, after that i washed my hands But i saw an small cut on my fingernail .. the cut approximetaly healed but i'm really scared right now . i went to the doctor last week & tested with ELISA HIV TEST the result is NEGATIVE after 2/1 months .. My Question IS :
1 ) Is it necessary to tested again ?
2 ) Can i trust to this Negative result ?
3 ) How much is the chance of transmission by fingering with an small cut on finger ?
Hello There was a cut on fingernail , if she was HIV infected , there is chance of getting infection by you .But if scab was formed on this cut less chance of any infection by you. Answers : 1 Yes you should get blood for p24 ( pcr rna ) nucleic acid amplification test ( Western blot , enzyme immunoassay (EIA) test ) as this is most sensitive and specific for confirmation for HIV . 2 No you get in as mentioned in answer no 1 3 As I mentioned , if she was ( cervical smear or vaginal fluid ) HIV infection and cut was not healed chance of getting infection by you is more . Hope I have answered your questions.
