my mother in law is suffering from disc prolapse what are the methods to heal it when we have done the mri scan docter adviced to take injection in the disc is ther any sideeffects for this and success rate of this procedure and cost of the procedure......... can u explain sir

Dear probably your doctor advised epidural steroid injection (esi), many patients feel some pain relief after injection. If pain relief not more require 2more injections 1 to 4week intervals.

Side effects less. Common side effects infection, allergic reaction, bleeding and nerve damage etc..

Other methods like physical exercise, heat and cold therapy, cheerio practice,and stretching. If symptoms not improved need surgery.


Please consult your doctor he will examine and treat you accordingly.
