Cardiologist 's  Response
Hello! Thank you for asking on HCM! I would like to express my condolences for this uexpected loss of your dad. When death comes within 24 hours from the initial of complains in a previosly apparently healthy person, it is considered sudden death, and speaking of sudden death is very difficult to express on words. It is a real dramatic situation dominated sometimes from undescribeable pain, suffocating respiratory distress, and often from extreme cognitive impairment. Statements from succesfully resuscitated patients refer of different unusual perception, like seeing and communicating with unvisible beings; experiencing different perceptions about surrounding space, sometimes flames, sometimes passing through a long and dark tunnel. As I am a cardiologist in the intensive cardiac care, I repeatedly have the opportunity to realise such extraordinary experiences.
But it is impossible to know exactly, what are the exact feelings of those people who pass away.

Hope to have been helpful to you. Greetings. Dr. Iliri
