What Are The Effects Of Stopping Birth Control?

I have taken birth control since I was 15 and I am now 34. I recently stopped. About the same time I stopped I developed a rash. The only thing that makes the rash go away is s round of steroids. However, when I finish the steroids it comes back and in more spots. Could the rash have anything to do with me getting off of my birth control? This has been going on for about two months.

It is not likely that this is related to the rash is related to the discontinuation of the contraception though persons can react differently to medications or their discontinuation.

This is not a known side effect of stopping hormonal contraception.

You should consider asking your doctor if there are any other possible triggers. Triggers can be foods/drinks/other medications/soaps/supplements.

There are allergy tests that can be done to determine if it is an allergic response.
These can be in the form of blood tests or skin prick testing.
