What Are The Effects Of Mercury And Lead In Blood Stream?

Hello, I took a few rounds of DMSA as I had high mercury and lead. Had to stop because my throat seemed to start closing, I felt a nodule that hurt in my throat, and I am still having a persistant dry cough. Are these symptoms of the heavy metals going into my blood stream or are they side-affects of the drug.I also have lots of fillings, and the naturopath did not warn me about the mercury in these before I started. Thanks for you advice. Heidi

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,
I understand your concern.
NO mercury nor the lead cause chronic dry cough. Still both the metals in blood stream on vital systems like brain & nervous system, kidneys, muscular system. Mercury rarely hampers respiratory functions.
Constant dry cougm is usualy due to respiratory diseases like asthma, bronchitis,COPD or allergy /irritation in throat.
In your case it seems to be the tubercle n yout throat.
Please consult an ENT specialist for evaluation of tubercle followed by specific treatment.
thanks.
