What Are The Effects Of A Chemotherapy Drug On A Person?
Hi! I would like to understand better the way chemotherapy drugs work. I know the basics that they are trying to kill fast dividing cells. However, I would like to understand if there is a difference in results if cancer found only in one place vs. several places in the body.
Chemotherapy attacks tumors at the cellular level by interrupting processes or inhibiting substances necessary for cellular replication and life. During the cell cycle, there is replication of the entire genome and division of the cell into genetically identical daughter cells. The chemotherapeutic agent attacks this function and stops abnormal cell proliferation at more than one location.
