What Are The Effects Of Benadryl In A Child?

my son is 2 yrs old and doesnt sleep at all, he get NO sugar after 4;00( not even fruit juice) , and I am afraid because someone told me never to give anyone under 6 benedryl. What are the effects of benedryl? he weighs 29.5 lbs and takes one children s benedryl 2 or 3 times a week.

Hi,

This is an antihistaminic with sedation. No problem in using once in a while, but frequent use as we are doing now, should be avoided. Regular use can cause side effects like constipation, drowsiness, dry mouth.
