What Are The Effect Of Taking Tramadol And Gabapentin?

My husband is a recovering alcoholic. He has a severe back injury and experiences significant pain. His doctor prescribed Tramadol and Gabapentin. When I read up on them, it says they are both addictictive and give the patient a high . Should my husband be taking these meds?

Thanks for asking a question at HCM

I will be glad to answer for you

Don't worry, almost every drug, esplly pain killers, anti depressants and antipsychotics are addictive, but I can assure you not as much addictive as alcohol

He needs them in the recovery phase. Once you see him recovered and out of that Phase, you can stop tramadol and you can taper the dose of Gabapentin and finally stop it.

Hope this helps

Best Regards
Dr Chaithanya
