What Are The Early Signs Of Pregnancy?

I have had irregular periods on and off and my doctor gave me progesterone pills and it has been regular since taking them. We have been trying to get pregnant and I am a few days late and have been having some brown discharge. For about 3 nights now I have been feeling dizy. I have taken 2 pregnancy tests and both have come back negative. If I am pregnant I would be about 5 weeks. Should I keep testing? Is there maybe something more serious going on?

Hi,
Usually, urine pregnancy tests begin to read well after 3-7 days of a missed period. If they do not, it can be due either to a low early hormone level which picks up later, or a testing error. You can repeat the test after a couple of days with a fresh early morning sample of urine or get an assessment of the serum beta-hCG titres. Moreover, the presence of brownish discharge and the history of irregular periods suggest a hormone imbalance and a breakthrough bleed. A clinical evaluation and a trans-vaginal sonogram aid further in the diagnosis. Hope this helps.
