What Are The Different Types Of Appendicitis?
Hi my daughter was sent to hospital with query appendicitis..although she only showed symptoms of pain to the right side of her abdomen...he has continues to have this pain and lethargy for over a week...i have researched there is a difference between chronic and acute appendicitis. I believe she may have chronic were the appendix is inflamed but not presently infected...i have been told to visit the doctor again..can the doctor percribe antibiotics ...i am concerned that her condition may be getting worse without us knowing and could lead to acute appedicitis

Your child having pain in right side abdomen....
So it could be colitis like colon infection or it can be appendicitis.....
If she in reproductive age group possibilities of ovarian cyst also has to be searched for....
USG abdomen useful for it....
It will help in diagnosing above condition...
For colitis or appendicitis antibiotic given.
Rest is taken....
Avoid smoking and alcohol and excess spicy foods....
If appendicitis not resolve by antibiotic surgical appendisectomy needed.....
For ovarian cyst hormonal pill needed.
With keeping this in mind consult physician ...
