What Are The Diagnostic Symptoms For Prostate Gland Cancer?

I was diagnosed with localized cancerous prostate cancer in the gland. By a anatomic and clinical pathologist. I don t feel comfortable with the diagnosis, because it was not done by a oncologist pathologists, who specializes in prostate gland cancer. Should I seek a 2nd opinion?

Hello and welcome to HCM.
As an Urologist,i can understand your anxiety.
Cancer prostate is diagnosed on a 12 core biopsy of prostate gland.
A pathologist can easily grade the cancer,to show differentiation of the cells.
This is called the "Gleason score".Any competent pathologist will report this.
The report will also mention about peri-neural invasion,if present.
You can get a second opinion, from an onco-pathologist,to clear doubt.
If you've any related question to cancer prostate, send it as a direct question.
