What Are The Consequences Of Skipping Intake Of Contraceptive Pills?

My period ended on friday but i took the contraceptive pill that had the date wednesday at the back of the pamplet . I missed the time of which i should take my contraceptive pill which was 8:30 pm, i had unprotected sex sunday but today i still took the pill that had Monday marked at the back but i took it at 8:48 pm.. is everything ok? should i continue taking it?

Hello,
If you skipped taking one pill and made it up on the next day, your cycle is protected. If you missed two pills in a row, your cycle is no longer protected and you need additional protection if you have an intercourse during such a cycle. In the current scenario, you can have an emergency pill or an emergency IUD insertion. Else, you can wait for your next period and go for a pregnancy test if you miss the period and plan further management. Please let your consultant check if the pack of pills are taken properly or not. Hope this helps.
