Hi
Marriages within the same family can result in expression of certain recessive disorders in the children. If you have any history of diseases running in the family it will be best to consult a genetic counselor before planning the pregnancy and better to consult a counselor before marriage itself who will assess your family history after making a chart called as a pedigree chart. Also the counselor may do genetic testing of you and your partner to assess if any inherited disorders are present in the family or may express in the child.
I hope this solves your query.Feel free to contact me for any further clarifications and do remember to rate my answer.
Thank you.
