What Are The Complications Of Placenta Previa During Pregnancy?

I am pregnant, 6 months and 12 days, I was told by my doctor that I have placenta previa, I have suffered from bleeding with clots yesterday, she told me to take primolut injection whenever I experience bleeding, I want to know do I have to be tied to bed? and for how long? and is this common? and is there a chance for this pregnancy to continue?
Is this what is called placental abruption? and do I have to take yutopar? and if there is risk on me or the baby?
I am 28 years old, 163 cm tall, no medical history except for previous miscarriage at the 3rd month

Hello,
I can understand your concern about your baby and yourself. I like to tell you that placenta previa is a condition in which placenta is present before the baby's head and its quite common nowadays.
I also want to tell you that as you had the history of abortion once, you need to take extra precautions to continue this pregnancy till the very end. Also there are high chances that you will have to deliver through CS and chances of normal delivery are very less.
Placenta abruption is another condition in which placenta gets separated and its more dangerous than placenta previa. You need to take sufficient rest and i guess you will have to be tied to bed till rest of your pregnancy. Never weight any heavy things and don't exhaust yourself. Take regular followup with gynecologist and take injections whenever bleeding occurs.
There are every chances that your pregnancy will continue till the very end and you will deliver a healthy baby, but mostly by CS, because by normal delivery there are more chances of heavy bleeding and one must avoid it.
Hope this will help you in future and feel free to ask any of your queries.
