What Are The Complications Of Flight Journey While Suffering From Atrial Fibrillation?

I was diagnosed with atrial Fibrillation about 5 months ago (I am 65 yers old). Since then I am under intensive medical care with Cardiac Function Clinic in Vancouver. I was told I am responding well to the medications. My blood pressure is almost always close to normal (120/70) however the pulse is in a lower range (about 50).I am intending fly to Europe, with part of fly being about 8 hours. Can I do that and what risk is involved due to cabin and flight conditions?

Hi There

With the above mentioned details there should be no issue in flying an 8 hrs flight. As your BP is well under control and also you are responding well to your medications so flying will not cause any issue. Things you gonna take care are:

1. Don't sit for too long continuously during journey, keep walking at regular intervals during the flight.

2. Keep yourself well hydrated by drinking good amount of fluids.

I wish you good health and a safe journey
