What Are The Chances Of Pregnancy When On Clomid?

Hi, I have taken clomid cd 3-7 and on my first ultrasound I had 5 follicles over 17mm the largest being 28mm. My doc recommended I stop having relations due to the high risk of multiple birth. My question is when do you think I would ovulate with these sized follicles and what are the chances of me getting pregnant since I had relations the night before my ultrasound and also two nights before that.

Hi,
A size of 17-18 mm. of the follicle could mean they are ready to rupture and release the ovum. Since induction can result often in release of multiple ova, multiple pregnancies are seen. Cyst formation may happen if the follicle continues to grow in size without rupture. If you had unprotected intercourse just before the sonogram, your chances of pregnancy are average to good. Since sperms can remain active up to 3-5 days, if ovum is released within this time span, pregnancy can happen. You need to wait until your next period to know for sure. You can also get a blood test for pregnancy ten days after the intercourse. Hope this helps.
