What Are The Chances Of Pregnancy Despite Taking Contraceptive Pills?

Hi. I took 4 tablets of Nordette (Levonorgestrel / Ethinyl Estradiol) within 24 hours of unprotected sex as emergency contraceptive. I took another 4 tablets exactly after 12 hours when I took the first dose. The problem is I had unprotected sex in between the two doses. And it happened 3 days before my ovulation. It has been seven days since I took the pills, and I still have no period. Am I going to get pregnant?

Hello,

No method is 100% accurate, but generally the possiblity of pregnancy is very low, almost negligible if this was taken as instructed.

There are instances where pregnancy have occurred with contraceptives. If intercourse was not during ovulation, then there are no chances of pregnancy.

Anyways go for urine pregnancy test kit in your home with morning urine sample for confirmation.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care
