What Are The Chances Of Pregnancy After Taking Ipills?

Me and my gf had unprotected sex and she took the i pill after 30 hours of sex.. She had her previous periods 2 months back.. She has a problem of periods which doesn t occur regularly and she is taking medication for that. Is there any chances she might get pregnant?

Hello dear, I really appreciate your concern. I-pill within 72 hours of unprotected intercourse prevents pregnancy in 85% cases. Effectiveness of i-pill depends upon after how much hours of intercourse you have taken i-pill and on which day of menstrual cycle you have had intercourse. If you have intercourse near ovulation day, chances of failure of i-pill is increased. Your girlfriend is having irregular prolonged menstrual cycle so it is difficult to predict ovulation day in her.
For safer side, you can rule out pregnancy by using urine pregnancy testing kit available at the pharmacy.
