What Are The Chances Of Pregnancy After Taking Plan B?

Will the PLAN B pill still be affective within 24 hours of my boyfriend and I having unprotected sex (he didn t ejaculate in me) and my period tracker on my phone says I might have been ovulating, but I don t know for sure if it s accurate. I ve had the clear mucus that you would if you were ovulating, and I did when I woke up this morning too. So will taking the plan b pill help? I can t have a kid I m only 17. And I ve been eating vitamin c tablets like crazy and drinking anything acidic. Please help.

Hello Dear. Plan B is a type of emergency contraception. f you take it within 72 hours after you've had unprotected sex, Plan B One-Step can reduce the risk of pregnancy by up to 89%. If you take Plan B One-Step within 24 hours, it is about 95% effective.

But you should know that Plan B One-Step is not as effective as regular contraception. So don't take it as your main form of birth control. And, it does not protect you against sexually transmitted diseases.

The only thing you can do right now is wait till the date of your next periods. Then do a urine pregnancy test. Urine pregnancy test comes positive (in case of conception) only after a period of 10-12 days. Because it depends on a hormone called Beta-HCG levels in urine. If you do it earlier than that there are chances of false negative results.

Thats why after 12 days you get a urine pregnancy test. If it comes negative well and good. If it comes positive, you need to go to a gynecologist and discuss about medical termination of pregnancy.

Hope i have answered your question. Feel free to contact me if you have any more questions. I ll be glad to help you.
All the best
With warm regards
