Hello,

If it happens that she has aborted three consecutive pregnancies then it is called habitual abortion.
Further evaluations should be done on both of you.
The fetus should undergo biopsy, you should get genetically tested too.
Also she should get tested for infection, also do an ultrasound and pap smear and colposcopy.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

OBGYN Dr. Shanti Vennam's  Response
Hello,

I would like to know the cause of the earlier abortion and also if any histopathological study was done on the abortus. I can comment further on your semen analysis if you can quote or attach your report.

Infections can be dealt through use of appropriate antibiotic. Physical obstructions can be dealt with through proper operation. Improvement of semen count can be had through medication, improvement of life style, nutrition and rest. Abnormal morphology and decreased motility, especially progressive motility are a cause for concern and in such cases, you need additional help.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Shanti Vennam, OBGYN

I recently had a non-surgical abortion, went back for my follow up 7 days later and was told that some tissue and blood clots remained in my uterus but that the pregnancy was gone aside from that. I was given 4 more cytotec pills to take, I had started taking my bc pills 4 days prior but was told to stop so I can take the cytotec, I drank them late at night 12:30am some bad cramping but no bleeding aside from the spotting I was still having. About 24hrs later I had unprotected sex, I tried cleaning myself gently with water. My spotting continued. I went to my second follow up 5 days later and was told I still have tissue, some small blood clots that should go away on their own or on my next cycle but my uterus looked clear and free from pregnancy aside from that. what are the chances of me being pregnant again?
