What Are The Chances Of Heart Attack Having A Blockage In The Artery?

Hello, i am a 69 year old male. A year and a half ago, i had a blockage on my right atery on the heart. I eat well but still smoke 7-10 cig s a day but i do not inhale anymore. What are my chances of having another heart attack? I have had a stent put in after i had the mild heart attack. Thank you Glenn

Hi welcome to HCM.
The risk of having a second heart attack is quite high in individuals who had history of smoking.AGE is a separate risk factor or heart attacks in your case.In all the risk of reinfarct varies as high as 60-80% in the first year followed by 40%risk in the second year.A baseline risk of 20% always exists.Serial monitoring of coronary vessels and 2 dimensional echocardiography can help to detect such events and assure prompt secondary prevention.Consult your doctor for further care.
