What Are The Chances Of Getting Pregnant After Unprotected Sex After Period?

I recently had uti infection and under went treatment n was prescribed antibiotics. My period was supposed to happen on19th July but it happened on the 6th....after that me n my husband had unprotected sex on 17 is there any chance of me getting pregnant?

Hello, I would be happy to help you with your question.

First of all, the typical antibiotics used to treat bladder infections do NOT decrease the effectiveness of birth control pills. Also, the antibiotics themselves do not affect your cycle. So you are left with bleeding unrelated to your cycle. This could be normal mid-cycle bleeding that we sometimes associate with ovulation, or it could be something else entirely. Yes, pregnancy is always a possibility, so you should take a test. If the test is negative and you continue to have irregular bleeding, contact your OB/GYN.
