What Are The Chances Of STDs After Oral Sex?

On March 9 I exchange oral sex with a man. It was unprotected and I swallowed some of his sperm. On March 11th I felt a something in my throat. The next day on the 12th I began to feel a burning in my stomach. The burning feeling then traveled to my anus and my penis. Sometimes in my inner thighs as well, as low as close to my knees. On the 13th I went to the ER and they tested me for chlamydia and gonorrhea. They did not treat me for anything. The following Monday on the 18th I went to a walk in clinic and was tested again, while still waiting for results of the other tests and asked them to treat me without the results because I was in discomfort. They gave me the treatment for both chlamydia and gonorrhea. That night the discomfort became more extreme and I had a lot of trouble sleeping. The next day I had testing done for pretty much every std that I know of. Chlamydia, gonorrhea, syphilis, hepatitis a, b, c, AIDS, HSV 1 and 2. Everything came back negative. Also that night the burning sensation became very prominent on what seemed to be the outside of my penis and I actually had to use ice cubes to find relief. A couple of days later I started to notice a significant relief but nothing final. I also was experiencing drowsiness and the feeling in my throat was still coming and going. Over that weekend (March 21-22) it seemed the burning had almost gone away. Then it started to come back around the following Tuesday. I ended up going back to the walk in clinic and they checked my prostate and said it did not seem infected. They gave me cipro just in case and I have been taking that for a week now. At first it seemed as though that was taking care of the problem, but the burning sensation came back a couple of days ago and the throat thing is always coming and going. On Tuesday of this week I got freaked out when looking at my tongue because I thought I had herpes on my tongue and went back tot he walk in clinic. The doctor assured me it was not herpes but just my papillae. He then took blood to test for herpes and aids. The Aids test came back negative and the herpes results will be in next Wednesday. They said the testing would be done on Tuesday the 7th and I could call on the 8th or 9th for results. When I had sex I did not notice any lesions but I am aware of viral shedding. During this process I have had a headache and drowsiness a few times but not in over a week and I have not had a fever at all. I will take my last cipro on Sunday morning but I don t feel like that is going to take care of the problem considering where I am at this point. I have an appointment with a urologist next Tuesday but I am very worried and this is constantly on my mind. I know I shouldn t, but I have been looking up the symptoms and trying to study everything I possibly can to figure this out. Nothing really seems to fit. I realize the first herpes test I took was not far enough away from the oral sex to be accurate, but I have not had any lesions and I don t think that is it. I really hope it isn t. Could this possibly be NGU or another uncommon STD? Would the Chlamydia/gonorrhea meds take care of that? Would the cipro? This is the only thing I can think about and it is affecting every aspect of my life including exercise and work. Please any information you can provide would be appreciated greatly.

Hello,

I can understand your concern for the possibility of various STDs in yourself after the incidence. Sexually Transmitted Diseases basically manifest as either a discharge from the penile site or redness over the glans penis or swelling over the genital area. If you don't have any such symptoms then can be assured about any major STDs.
For the part of other minor STDs or other of the STDs you need to get tested for the same to get relieved of all the anxieties related to these. The various symptoms you have enumerated are basically related to anxiety and stress related to the incidence. You can take further guidance from a specialist.
Regards
