What Are The Chances Of HIV If The Blood Count Is Normal?

hi I had unprotected sex 4 years ago and I m scared of HIV I had done the test 2 days ago and im waiting for the result but what I wanted to ask is I had a full blood count 2 years ago and it came back normal they just said I need folic acid I know that full vlood count don t detect HIV but if I had it would it come back abnormal and what are the chances of me having HIV if blood count came back normal but just need folic acid

Hi! I'm afraid a complete blood count whether normal or abnormal would not suggest anything definitive about one's HIV status. You'll have to wait for your HIV test report to know that. All the best!

Hai,
As you said , with blood count we cannot detect Hiv.with the mentioned time period of 4 years of exposure we need HIV ANTIBODY test to detect. probably that might be done for you.
full blood counts will show abnormality only in late stages of hiv.folic acid might be suggested to correct your anemia.with this information we cannot confirmly say anything about the diagnosis.
