Hi,I am Dr. Subhankar Chakraborty (Gastroenterologist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
What Are The Causes Of Dizziness, Vomiting, Stomach Cramps And Difficulty In Standing?
what could cause my husband to not be able to stand or sit up without acute dizziness and nausiated feeling or vomiting plus stomache cramps , I don t know how I could even take him to the doctors. I can t carry him and he can t keep upright . He has other medical problems and is on many medicines but this is new .
This can simply be due to a gastrointestinal infection which has caused dehydration due to vomiting. Or it may be a drug interaction as he is on multiple medicines. In my opinion, you should call his doctor and inform about what his going on. Accordingly your doctor may decide to visit you at your home or may decide to call him in an ambulance. Till then, give him adequate amount of fluids, preferably oral rehydration solutions (ORS) to replenish what he is losing.
Hope he gets well soon. Best wishes.
