What Are The Causes For Irregular Periods?
I m having irregular periods after my marriage from May 2013. We are expecting a baby and I have been advised to take Norgest 5mg. I took it for 7 days but still no periods. I m tension about this much and can t concentrate on the daily work. Please help me.

The very fact you have started having your periods irregularly after marriage indicates that since your marriage, you are under stress. This can lead to irregular menses due to hormonal disturbances, commonly Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome. Please get yourself investigated for PCOS. Initially get your ultrasonography done to see the condition of the ovaries. Then you may go for blood examination for estimation of FSH, LH, Oestrogen, Progesterone nd Prolactin. Also get your Thyroid function test done for T3, T4, TSH.
However, since even 7 days after Norgest you have not had your menses, the possibility of pregnancy has to be kept in mind. Please get your pregnancy test done of overnight morning first urine sample.
I would also suggest you have a family mentor who can help you to reduce your stress. If required, you may take help of a counsellor or a peer educator.
