My 86 year old grandmother has been having confusion and emotional outbursts, but she has not been diagnosed with alzheimers or dementia. She had many tests last year, mri, ct scan, lumbar puncture, blood tests, urine test, etc. and no major problems were found. She has high blood pressure and takes amlodipine, metoprolol, and furosemide. Yesterday, after a very emotional and stressful episode, and taking one Ativan .5 at 2:30 in the afternoon, and one metoprolol at 8:30, she appeared to pass out for just a few seconds, and one eye appeared to roll to the side, but she came back and opened her eyes and said she was ok. Could this have been a mini stroke? She still has slight confusion today. The confusion and some rambling talk has been going on over a week, and a doctor just gave her the ativan for the anxiety outbursts.
Also, is oatmeal and centrum silver vitamins ok to take with her medicine?
