I am a 51 years old female and I have been diagnosed with SVT in 2004. I ended up in A@E as I collapsed. Rapid heart beat 180 and incrased BP. Put on medication, fine till 2007, yet another collapse, changed medication, varieous test been done ECG on SO ON. I was ok till 2009 and since then the episodes have increased and the time span from 6 month to 3 month, now it happenes on a 4 weekly basis. I am on Sotalol 80 mg twice and Amlodipine 5mg at night one. Since January this year I have more symptons. I now have high blood pressure, blue hands and lips, loos of balance, co-ordination increased dizzy spells and mild pressure behind breast bone. My last episode was last week. This came out of the blue. I was driving the car and suddenly I felt a bit weired,my heart started to raice fast, felt dizzy, faint, my hands changed colour from blue to white cold hands, lips blue, pale skin, waves of pressure behind my breast bone. Which lasted for one hr. BP 195/104 P 104. After about 2 hr. BP down to 160/85 P 85. I am still not right, I have small episodes of that every day. My feet are getting numb too now at times and it comes on at anytime, not physical related. No stress, nothing. My BP is at times high than low from 160 - 110 and my P goes down to 52. My arteries are fine and my valves are working fine. I end up in A@E and they send me home when I am medical stable. My GP looking into my kidney function and I had many blood test done. Every time I have an episode either consious or lose consiouness, I take longer and longer to recover and I am so tiered after that. I need to sleep for hrs. I am not in controll of this as it can happen anytime. Can you help of what I need to do. Thank you

Prior to a work related car accident, I was in perfect health. I, was wearing my police uniform, when struck by an imparied driver in 2009. Since that day, while specialists were trying to figure out why I was in pain and having flu like symptoms monthly for a week at a time, and extreme pain and unusual fatigue my orth surgeon sent me for a bon scan where the nurse dropped the needle and put a belt around my elbows without steralizing. The next morning I woke up with 4 golf ball size lymph nodes under each arm. I had surgery and was diagnosed with a staph infection, I had home care for over two months while nurses changed the wound dressings under both underarms until they healed. As i tried to go for rehab to get strong again, I continue to crash and suffer from extreme exhaustion and was eventually told I had Fibromyalgia. I went to the USA for a 1 year treatment plan at the fibro and fatigue centre in Marietta Georgia. During my IV Injectoin treatments it was detected that I was not suffering from high blood pressure at rest 169 over 116 with a pulse of 90 to 98 at rest. Since then my dr prescribed blood pressure medicine and I take it but blood pressure is still 157 over 110 and my pulse is 104 at rest. What does this mean?? The last time I went to a heart specialst they advised that my heart was somewhat enlarged and mentioned left ventrical hypertrophy a condition athletes get as it happens over time with the heart having to pump harder. Any suggestions. I have been advised that Fibromyalgia causes our blood to thicken and less oxygen and a number of different theories. I really want to find the best doctor in the world to help me. Thank You, Katherne 46 yrs always an athlete until this accident and the driver and passenger were impaired by drugs on a monday morning in June at 11am and this is still before the courts and I just want it to be over so that I can try fetal stem cell or something to save myself.

I am a 72 year old woman in good health with elevated BP in morning. Started Bystolic ( less than 2 mg at night) My BP was 113/68 with pulse of 62. Am I getting too low? My family doc says too low is a risk factor for stroke in older women. What say?

Hi, I am 46 y/o female (just turned 46), still active. My height is only 4'9" and weight 122 lb. But my BP and my pulse is high. Usually I don't go to see a doctor, only for my papsmear/mamo. This week I've had a cold and couldn't come to work. I went to see my doctor (after 2 years) and my BP was 150 (didn't tell me how much diastolic was). She just told me to come for another check up in 4 months. I called her next day and asked for some lab tests (cholesterol, creatinine, which I've had done 6 years ago). Why she didn't offer this to me during my visit? Anything else should I check? I decided to change my diet and checking my bp regularly at home. Interesting, that sistolic went down. The highest I've had 123 and lowest 103, but diasolic still high - 79-90. My pulse is 82-96. I think this numbers are telling that I have prehypertension. I work as a sonographer in a busy hospital. My work is also very stressfull. My father died suddenly from the heart attack at 67. My mother has HBP and taking meds. So, I am in high risk. What else can I check (tests) to examine my heart (coronary arteries)? I don't want to start meds.
