What Are Side Effects Of Invanz?

My Mother has developed a rash all over her body (ears red and hot also) ... it started one day after being removed from IV administration of Invanz for a nasty UTI while in the hospital ... could this be a side effect of the Invanz?? How long should it continue? What can I do?

invanz is a likely cause of this rash. A UTI is not supposed to cause rashes. An allergic reaction is possible. Itching is usually another symptom that accompanies allergic reactions. If it's an allergic reaction indeed then it may continue for as long as invanz remains in the body which is approximately 24 hours. In any case her doctor should examine her. Allergic reactions are usually treated with antihistamines and perhaps also with corticosteroids. But remember that her doctor should take treatment decisions.
