What Are Red Bumps On The Jaw And Mouth With Discolored Gums Suggestive Of?

Hi, it started with what I thought was an ingrown hair or pimple on my chin. I popped it, then about two days later it was all red n lumpy n oozing blood n pus. At that time my lymphnodes began to swell quit large under my chin and along my jaw line. I went to doctor n he said prob cellulitis. The lump on my jaw however began traveling to my mouth and now I. Have a huge swollen bottom lip and in the inside of lip a huge fluid sac formed n also my gums r dark red almost black. I've been on Bactrim for 4 days now and I'm still in crazy pain and all swollen. Any ideas of what this shit is or how I could have gotten or what cures it? Thank you

Hello,

Swellings or lumps under the chin and jawline seem to be due to swollen lymph nodes, that can be probably due to cellulitis caused due to popping the pimple under the chin.

A large sac on the inside of the lower lip can be a mucocele that is formed due to ruptured duct of minor salivary gland leading to the formation of a mucous-filled lump. Dark red gums seems to be due to inflammation inside the mouth.

You should consult an oral physician and get evaluated and a thorough clinical evaluation will be done.

In case of mucocele you can be advised to do concentrated salt water rinses and in case if the lump does not improve then surgical excision can be done.

For swollen lymph nodes caused due to cellulitis, oral and injectable antibiotics, anti-inflammatory painkillers and steroids can help.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
