What are perimenopause symptoms?

I m 47. My periods have always been regular except the last couple of years sometimes I spot between periods. Has prob happened 3 or 4 times. My period was two weeks ago. I started spotting yesterday. Have had lower back pressure and lose stools. Tonight it s acting like a regular cycle with regular light blood flow. Embarrassed to say some odor. Right breast has also been tender last few days. Is this just perimenopause?

Hi,
Given your age, you are likely to have entered the perimenopause. Hormonal imbalances are common at this stage and these can lead to the menstrual disturbances you have been experiencing. Yet, it is advisable to have a clinical examination done by a specialist, get a pap smear and a trans-vaginal sonogram to exclude any derangement. A blood evaluation including hormone assay may also be done for a better clarification. Management can be planned according to the findings. Hope this helps.
