What Are Liver Disease, Protein In Blood And Spleen Lesions Suggestive Of?

I was diagnosed with liver disease after a ct scan showed fatty liver and ALT and AST liver enzymes were high. ALT was 140 and AST was 80. In addition due to protein in blood I am told o likely have kidney disease along spleen lesions. Is it likely I have NASH? If so chronic or acute?

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

The liver disease with raised alkaline transaminase and aspartate transaminase indicate malfunctioning involving control of protein metabolism pathways and hence more protein is dumped into the blood stream causing hyperproteinemia and proteinuria particularly. As part of secondary changes, kidneys have more load to filter the protein in urine, over a period of time (chronic phase), there is kidney problems and spleen gets enlarged due to raised functioning of destruction of possible antigens related to liver disease.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Bhagyesh V. Patel, General Surgeon
