What Are Effects Of Low Oxygen Sat Level?

Hello Dr I have severe stage 4 emphysema, and I don t qualify for oxygen at rest my sat are between 94 or lower at time but when I move or walk ..it goes down to 79 and lower I wonder at what point 79 damaged my organs. I don t qualify for oxygene yet cause my blood gaz is at 65. thank you

Hi,

I think Oxygen saturation is normal when at rest but decreases while exerting level below is harmful for health.

I would suggest to check with red blood cell count; haemoglobin percentage (anemia may have such effect)/your respiratory system.

Lungs & airway health (difficulty in respiration due to any cause can give such problem)/hearthealth (check-up with a cardiologist).

Treatment of root cause would help you out.
