What Are Azithromycin And Robafen DM Used For?

My mother got some meds from a doctor who was filling in for her primary doctor. Her primary doctor was out in a conference. Anyway, she wants to know what these meds are for? One are pink tablets called azithromycin, 250mg and the other is a liquid form-Robafen-dm syrup. Can you help us.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

Azithromycin is an antibiotic. It is prescribed to treat the infection. A course of it needs to be completed as prescribed.

Robafen DM is a cough formula composed of dextromethorphan & guaifenesin.

These medications must have been prescribed probably for a respiratory infection.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr Ashakiran S, General & Family Physician
