what antidepressant is the best for controlling nerve pain of Mult Focal Motor Neurophathy without affecting sexual function in a 60 year old male who is also taking three doses of 300 mg. of gabapenin per day. At present he is on Amitryptyline 50mg per day.

The amitriptyline which you are already taking is a good option to avoid the nerve pain. It has minimum sexual problems and should be a good drug. If that is not acceptable then opipromol is a new drug which can be used. However, its pain reducing function may not be as effective as amitriptyline.
