My mother is 72 and she has gallstones. She did a ultrasound and the stones were very small. Hence surgery was not strongly recommended. A month later , now we found out that she has jaundice 2.5. what diet can I give. She takes diabetic med but its very controlled and after food she has only 115. Please advice. Except for billirubin , all other reading seems to be normal, ALT etc. Thanks Vandana

Diabetologist 's  Response
Dear Vandana i understand your concern.in my opinion ,as her bilrubin is raising which shows that there are some issues with drinage of bile from liver.next thing in such kind of cases my suggestion is to avoid fatty foods.fatty foods needs more involment of liver for there digestion.
Is she taking any oral medications for diabetes if so i want to know about them, because most of diabetes medications are metabolised by liver so it better to re-asses them.
kindly let me know about her urine output also.
I suppose I have given the desired response if you have any other query please write back.
Otherwise please accept & rate my answer. I will appreciate your review about my answer.
Best Regards.
