Weird, Annoying, Popping Split Second Sound In Ear. History Of Ear Infection, Had Tubes In Ears. Suggest

Hi. For most of my adult life whenever I hear dog bark or sometimes when somebody coughs I get this weird, and annoying, dull popping/crackling sound in my left ear. It only happens for a split second but will repeat if a dog keeps barking. I m reading some about the blown speaker effect , which sounds like an accurate description, but I can t find any good information. I m 28, white male, no health issues. Had a lot of eat infections as a child and had tubes in my ears at one point. Thanks.

Hi, it appears that you have some infection in the left internal ear, causing the sound to hear louder. Or it could be due to a hallusination of the sound, due to some previous experience.
I advise you to consult an E.N.T.surgeon to confirm or exclude the internal ear infection. Thank you.
