Weakness, Giddiness After Standing For Long. Why Do I Tend To Faint?
Dr i m a 18 year old girl ,sometimes when i stand after watching TV for a long time or after sitting for a long time i feel like fainting suddenly my eyes ll go dim & my legs began to shiver & if i didnt hold on something then i would probably fall down. But its just for a minute & after that i ll be alright .please reply whats the reason for this doctor?

Hello,
'Fainting is seen following sudden change of posture because of reduction of blood supply to the brain as it is probably occurring in your case. This is normal but this known to occur more often in individuals with hypotension, anemia or follwing hypoglycemia.
If the condition is recurring please do consult physician to rule out teh above mentioned conditions.
