Weak lungs, eye keeps tearing up red, sore eye

I have had a history with weak lungs and my doctor before told me I had them. A thing I had before to know I had weak lungs was that my eye would be red, it s somehow closely tied to that. But this time it s different, my eye keeps tearing up and the redness usually subsides and goes back and a thing is that it always produces that eye gunk that you get after waking up in the morning. Is it possible that it s sore eyes though it s just one eye? I m torn because if it s the thing I had before it would always just be red and the redness would not weaken if not subside. I really need your help.

Ophthalmologist 's  Response
Based on the history you have provided it appears that you have recuurent attacks of uveitis ( Condition in which body launch defence against its own part like eye). Now as you are saying that you also had some lung disease, it might be some disease like sarcoidosis. Usually these conditions does not only affect the eye but also affect the other systems of the body. I would advice you to get examined by Uveitis specialist as well as some rheumatologist. ( Both examinations are required). I hope this will help you.
