Was Treated For Blood Clots In Leg, Lungs. Given IV. Having Swollen Veins In The Wrist, Lump In The Arm. Suggestions?
My husband has a lump in the crook of his arm where an IV was placed about 10 days ago. We were told it was nothing to worry about--just an accumulation of blood and that it would go away on its own. This morning he woke up with a 2 to 3 inch section of swollen vein at his wrist on the same arm. It is sore to the touch. He was in the hospital for treatment of blood clots in his leg and lungs.

this seems to be inflammation of the vein (thrombophlebitis)
he needs some pain killers and a suitable antibiotic for a period one week
as he is in the hospital they will definitely look into it.
