Hi there, i have been taking accupril 20mg a day for years, i went to the chemist this morning and now its had a change from accupril to arrow- quinapril brand. They say its exactly the same tablet., but every thing is different, shape of the tablet , packaging , everything, i had this one other time with a thryoid pill and they told me the same and i felt dreadful for a year, then it came out the mixture changed and so was everyone else and they took it off the market, I am really scared to take this quinapirl tablet now, unless its exactly the same as accurpil?

Hi,
There are many brands in generic name are available in the market due to cost affecting factor.
Usually cost of brand name medicines are high and generic name medicines are cheaper but they are equally effective.
Accupril 20 mg is Quinapril hydrochloride and if this is available as Quinapril 20 mg, both are same though packing, size and colors are different.
So confirm reading Quinaprin hydrochloride on the strip and then purchase.
Ok and take care.
