Was Diagnosed With Tonsillitis, Had Fever, Watery Eyes And Redness, Paleness. Given Amoxicillin. Sufficient?

Hello, Last week my daughter who is 10 was diagnosed with tonsilitis. She was given amoxicillin but for only 5 days. She got better. Then a few days later she had a fever that lasted for 2 days. her eyes were very watery and even a little red. Now she has no fever but her eyes are still a little red and watery. She has no more fever but she looks pale. She also had a very slight rash which seems to be diasppearing. Should she continue with the amoxicilin?

Ophthalmologist 's  Response
Hi..
Thanks for the query..
It could be a viral illness with ocular involvement..
No need to continue amoxycillin as there is no fever and that too you have finished the course..
You can use antibiotic eye drops for a week with the ophthalmologist consultation..
Give her supportive treatment in the form of fluids and good diet..
If the rash is not subsiding you take her to a pediatrician for further follow up..
Take care...
