Very swollen but not bruised eye that getting worse
My 3 and a half year old daughter woke up this morning with what looks like a boxer after a lot of hit to one eye. Very swollen but not bruised. Her eye is completely shut but she doesn t feel any pain. the e.r said it was allergies and gave her Benadryl but eye got worse and now is shut.

causes of swellown eye r any allergy , or urinary infection, or renal dysfunction.
first you have to rule out the cause . you should get urine analysis, renal function test
then consult your doc discuss about it.

Thanks for query,
Your daughter has allergy due to something falling in her eye or due to some internal allergy.
due to allergy there is marked oedema in sclera causing swelling.
Put some anti allergy eye drops and some anti histamines like cetrizine instead of Benadryl after taking advice from your doctor.

Ur daughter case can vary according to ur description from simple cause like not sleeping well to the case of Allergy, Inflammation, Trauma or eye Infection
I would like to advice u to see a specialist Ophthalmogosit so he/she can diagnose it correctly, as this case should be seen to be diagnosed
