Vertigo After Working Out On Treadmill. Prescribed Steroids, Antivert, Got Diarrhea. All Tests Normal. Cause?

I have had vertigo for 2 months(It started within the first minute of being on a treadmill. I was working out on a treadmill for 2-3 days a week for 5+ years). Doctor prescribed steriods and antivert for 6 days. While taking the prescription, I got diarrhea. I am still dealing with the vertigo, and often still have diarrhea(sometimes my bowel movements are normal, sometimes mostly water, and sometimes in between). Had MRI, and no issues with the brain, etc. Had stress and echo tests, and no problems indicated. I walk up to 8 miles outside a day a few days a week(I still haven't gone back on a treadmill). What are some possible causes, and where should I go from here?

Hi, thanks for using healthcare magic

Vertigo and dizziness are common complaints.

It can be classified as central vertigo (related to the brain or spinal cord) or peripheral.
Peripheral vertigo is more common.

The most common causes of peripheral vertigo are: (1) BPPV - this stands for benign paroxysmal positional vertigo (2) vestibular neuronitis (3)meniere's disease (4) immune related inner ear disease

If the episodes last for a few seconds and occur with changes of the position of your head , it is most likely due to BPPV.

If the episodes last for days, occur with nausea with no other symptoms then it is most likely related to vestibular neuronitis. This is especially so if there is a history of a previous viral illness.

If the episodes last for a few hours and is associated with other symptoms such as hearing loss and ringing or other abnormal noises in the ear then it is likely related to meniere's disease.

The treatment would vary according to the cause found.

I hope this helps
