I am of 62 years of age and my fasting bloodsugar varies from 5 to 6,7. I do not take any medicine but daily exercises and controlled diet ( except week ends) I manage these levels including my weight 58 to 60kg consistant ( my height is 1.6m). When I take a whiskey / wine during week ends I feel very very thirsty in the night. this might continue for 3 days.

Hello,
Although consumption of alcohol does tend to result in dehydration and feeling of thirst but if you feel thirsty for three days, then it suggests that your diabetes is probably uncontrolled.
Get your blood sugar fasting and PP done to know the exact status of your blood sugar levels and if you find that they are disturbed, then you should consult a doctor and get the prescription of anti diabetic medications.
A proper control of diabetes is required to avoid various types of future complications.Carry on with your exercises and dietary restrictions.
Must limit your alcohol, even if you are taking on weekends only.
Thanks
