VP Shunt Since Childhood. Infection In Belly Button, Clear Liquid Leaking. Wound Cleaned With Pyodine

my daughter is 16 year old having VP shunt since child hood. From last five days we observed infection in her belly button which is quite RED and about to burst and from last 3 days clear liquid like CSF is slowly leaking from here. Initially we were cleaning her wound with pyodine and placing ray band with tape upon doctor advice. Leakage of water is reduced a lot but still size of button is not reduced and its quite red. Today we have started antibiotic injection of fortum 1 grm. Still no fever observed but mild pain in belly is observed by my daughter. Her lower limb is senseless by birth and no control over stool and urine.

Infection of peritoneum and belly button (peritoneum is the membrane covering the abdominal organs) is common in VP shunt patients
The antibiotic injection will take care of the infection at the belly button and peritoneum.
Apart from your present concern i want to take your attention on stem cell research which has shown encouraging results in neuro degenerative conditions for restoring the lost functions and preventing further progress of brain damage.
