Using Estrace Vaginal Cream For Pain Due To Intercourse. Heavy Periods. Medication Side Effect? Have PCOS
I'm 19 and taking estrace vaginal cream for the past two weeks a small pea size amount every night for intercourse pain and my period came yesterday very heavy with clots and my usual just lasts a day or two and is usually very light. Is it this bad because of the cream? And is it strange that my doctor prescribed me this cream at such a young age because I saw its used for women with menopause. I'm also on bc for almost a year called generesse fe. And I have pcos but with no cysts for almost a year since I started the bc. Thank you.
Hi, The birth control pills that you have been taking are good for the treatment of PCOD as well. It is possible that the estrogen could be causing the heavy period as estrogen causes endometrial hyperplasia. The painful intercourse could be due to prolapsed ovaries, retroverted uterus or cysts. You may discuss with your doctor on further management. Take care.
